The State Liquor Board of Maine has refused to allow a beer distributor sell a brand of beer because the label depicts Santa enjoying a cold one. The State refused to approve the label because it is “undignified” and might appeal to children. The Maine Civil Liberties Union argues beer labels are commercial speech entitled to first amendment protection.
