In Michigan, a 15 million dollar medical malpractice verdict was reversed because, during trial, without evidence, plaintiff’s counsel accused defendants of various crimes. On his weekly radio show, the attorney suggested his medically injured client stick one of his few remaining fingers up the asses of the appellate justices who reversed the award. The attorney was disciplined. He challenged his punishment on first amendment political speech grounds. The Michigan Supreme Court decided a lawyer’s invitation to sodomize a judge is beyond political speech protection of the first amendment.
