In New York, a kindergarten student’s poster of Jesus was rejected by his school. His assignment was to depict ways to help the environment following a two month curriculum in the subject. In its display, the school folded the poster to hide religious imagery. Antonio sued and lost. The school’s action was not intended to inhibit religion in violation of the first amendment establishment clause. Rather, his poster did not reflect the assignment and the school’s purpose was to avoid the perception of religious endorsement.
